In 1957 John Coltrane's battle with heroin had ended, inspiring one of the greatest Jazz records of all time on the A Love Supreme album . Coltrane's quartet,
pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Jimmy Garrison, drummer Elvin Jones, is at the prime of jazz music. Coltrane's personal issues and the tumultuous attitude of the 60's lead to vertical forms of jazz that were seen as extremely adventurous at the time. The A Love Supreme album has influenced some of the best in rock such as Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton. This revolutionary style of jazz is an instant classic, for Jazz musicians and music fans alike this album is a masterpiece.
