The Rolling Stones - Between the Buttons Album

The Between the Buttons album is a highly underrated offering from the Stones as it caught them in a transitional mode from the early reinvigoration of R&B classics to the reinvention of rock and roll that would take place on their future albums. This album contains the band's fourth number one single, the lilting and introspective "Ruby Tuesday," which is rare ballad for the band. On the B-side is a much more Stones-like "Let's Spend The Night Together" which was very risqué for the time. "Yesterday's Papers" has a jazzy sound to it and "Connection" contains an early Keith Richards lead vocal effort. The Stones are simply the world's greatest rock and roll band ever and like all of their other albums, this one deserves its due.
