Albert King - Born Under a Bad Sign Album

The Born Under a Bad Sign album was recorded at a time when albums were collections of singles and singles had work around the time constraints necessary to play on the radio and in jukeboxes. Towards this end, Albert King came up with a stellar collection of no-fringe, straight ahead blues songs that severed the genre well. This 1966 effort fully exploited even the most basic elements of the blues tune as King used an exquisite sense of timing and subtleness, rather than trying to dazzle the listener with a frenzied race all over the fret board. King influenced legions of guitarists ranging from Clapton to Hendrix and this album is one reason why.
